2014 CHAP Art Contest
Who can enter?
The art contest is open to all traditionally (parent directed, private) homeschooled students between the ages of 10 to 18.
What kind of art work can I enter?
The art contest will be divided into 2 categories (artwork MUST fit into one of these categories):
Category A: artwork using any of the following mediums: pencil, pen, pastels, paint.
Category B: photography.
What are the artwork guidelines?
Artwork must be the participant’s own original work and must be mounted on a mat and no larger than 20”x20” (including mat). NO FRAMED ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED! (mounting is the way a print is attached to a support board; matting is the paperboard window which surrounds the print)
Images must be appropriate for display. Any images that are obscene, disturbing or otherwise inappropriate will not be considered. CHAP has sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content
Will my artwork be displayed at the Convention?
CHAP will review entries and choose artwork to be displayed at the 2014 CHAP Convention. Participants whose artwork is chosen will be notified and will be responsible for bringing their artwork on Friday morning to the student gallery at the 2014 CHAP Convention.
How will my artwork be judged?
The final judging will take place at the Convention. Artwork will be judged on artistic skill, creativity and overall presentation
When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the 2014 CHAP Convention. The artwork will remain on display in the student gallery until the conclusion of the Convention. The artwork may be picked up by the participant at the close of the Convention. Any items not claimed will become the property of CHAP.
What are the prizes?
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each category (A & B), in each age group (10-14 and 15-18). 1st place – $250, 2nd place – $100 and 3rd place - $50.
How do I enter?
Participants can enter online at www.chaponline.com by completing the registration form. You will need to attached a picture of the artwork and will pay a $10 registration fee online.
When can I enter?
All entries must be submitted online between January 1st and March 15th.
