Art Contest
YOU MUST READ AND ACCEPT ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHAP CONTESTCHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF PENNSYLVANIA Contact Person – Charity Moore cmoore85@lakers.mercyhurst.edu CHAP ART OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS – 2013 The art contest is open to all traditional (parent directed, private) homeschooled students between the ages of 10 and 18 living in Pennsylvania (both CHAP Members and non-CHAP Members), as well as CHAP Members who do not live in Pennsylvania. All entrants must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The art contest is open from 02/01/2013 – 04/15/2013. There are two ways to enter the contest. Participants can enter online at www.chaponline.com by completing the registration form. Submit your registration along with a picture (attachment) of the artwork along with the $10 registration fee. The entry must be submitted between 02/01/13 and 04/15/13. Participants may also enter by mailing a registration form, one picture of the artwork (that is not returnable), and the $10 registration fee to the CHAP office at 231 N Chestnut St., Palmyra, PA 17078 . Do not send your artwork. Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked no earlier than 02/01/2013 and no later than 04/15/2013. CHAP is not responsible for any misdirected, inaccurate, incomplete, lost, late delayed, undeliverable, damaged or illegible entries, and all such entries will be void. THIS YEAR THE ART CONTEST WILL BE DIVIDED INTO TWO CATEGORIES. -The first category is artwork using any of the following mediums: pencil, pen, pastels, paint. Each category is divided into two age groups. Group A is for children between the ages of 10 and 14, and Group B is for children between the ages of 15 and 18. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation, given at the Convention or in the mail. Each age group will have three winners:
The artwork must be the participant’s own original work. The artwork must be mounted on a mat and no larger than 20”x20” (including mat). No framed artwork will be accepted. The artwork must be in one of the following mediums: pencil, pen, pastels, paint, or photography. The artwork will be judged on artistic skill, creativity and overall presentation. Images must be appropriate for display. Any images that are obscene, disturbing or otherwise inappropriate will not be considered. CHAP has sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content CHAP will review entries and choose artwork to be displayed at the 2013 CHAP Convention. Participants whose artwork is chosen will be notified, and will be responsible for bringing their artwork on Friday morning to the student gallery at the 2013 CHAP Convention. The final judging will take place at the Convention. The winners will be decided by judges appointed by CHAP and all decisions of the judges are final. The winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the 2013 CHAP Convention. The artwork will remain on display in the student gallery until the conclusion of the Convention. The artwork may be picked up by the participant at the close of the Convention. Any items not claimed will become the property of CHAP.
