Essay Contest
YOU MUST READ AND ACCEPT ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHAP CONTESTCHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF PENNSYLVANIA CHAP ESSAY OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS – 2012 The essay contest is open to all Pennsylvania traditional (parent directed, private) homeschooled students between the ages of 10 and 18. All entrants must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The essay contest is open from 01/01/2012 – 02/29/2012. There are two ways to enter the contest. Participants can enter online at www.chaponline.com by completing the registration form, attaching the essay and paying the $10 registration fee. The participant may also enter by mailing two paper copies (which are not returnable) to the CHAP office at 231 N Chestnut St., Palmyra, PA 17078. All entries must be postmarked no earlier than 01/01/2012 and no later than 02/29/2012. Along with the essays, the participant must send a completed registration form and include the $10 registration fee. CHAP is not responsible for any misdirected, inaccurate, incomplete, lost, late delayed, undeliverable, damaged or illegible entries, and all such entries will be void. Essays must be written in English and be based on the topic assigned by the CHAP Board (see below). The essay must be typewritten, double-spaced and no more than one thousand words in length. The essay must be the participant’s original work, and any other source used for support of the essay must be cited. Any plagiarism and/or failure to properly identify non-original sources will result in a disqualification. The essay winners will be decided by judges appointed by CHAP, and all decisions of the judges are final. The essay contest is divided into two categories. Group A is for students between the ages of 10 and 14, and Group B is for students between the ages of 15 and 18. Each category will have three winners:
